I asked Bill to help me learn to cry. I am almost 72 years old and I can’t remember the last time I shed a tear. I had grown to trust Bill, to rely on his guidance, his common sense, his stories, his integrity, his humor, his wisdom, and his concern for me. What didn’t happen in my 20 years of therapy did happen in the 4 months of life coaching. I went with a friend to a movie about Mr. Rogers. In a particularly moving segment when Fred Rogers was talking to a physically challenged child, I teared up - engrossed by the scene. I felt something land on my chest and I absently placed my hand on the spot. It was wet. I jerked to attention and my eyes abruptly flew open. I reached up to touch my cheeks. Miracle of miracles, tears were flowing! I was crying!
